Optus awards Skybridge the WA School of The Air upgrade project, involving the retrofitting of approximately 170 remote sites with new VSAT hardware.

The project will begin early 2009 and benefit some of the most remote communities in Australia.


In conjunction with Shooting Star Picture Company, Skybridge rolls out high definition satellite receiving hardware into cinemas across Australia and New Zealand as part of the CinemaLive concept.


NAB logo

Skybridge is awarded the National Australia Bank (NAB) Business Television Upgrade contract, involving an upgrade of satellite receiving infrastructure in approximately 1,000 NAB branches throughout Australia.

 

IBM logo

In partnership with IBM (Australia), Skybridge is nearing the completion of the rollout of COD systems in McDonald’s Restaurants Australia-wide.

The project involves the installation of an LCD screen, intercom system and bollard at the entry point of the Drive Thru lane.  Point Of Sale (POS) information will be viewed via the LCD screen and provides two - way voice communications between the customer and McDonald’s operator.

The system integration includes electrical and data works; installation of inductive loops and associated civil works, commissioning of a wireless duplex intercom system; and integration into the stores POS system.



SkyMesh Pty Ltd chooses Skybridge as the exclusive provider of installation and logistics management services for their national rollout of Ipstar VSAT systems.


  

  Wideband Networks logo

Both Westvic Broadband (trading as Aussie Broadband) and Wideband Networks sign exclusive supply agreements with Skybridge to provide national installation and logistics management services.

These regional Victorian ISP's have been approved under the Australian Broadband Guarantee program to provide subsidised satellite broadband services to eligible customers.



 
Skybridge signs a national supply agreement with Retail Radio Network and IGA Distribution Pty Ltd to supply and install IGA satellite radio services into approx 1,000 Supa IGA, IGA Express and IGA supermarkets across Australia.

Westnet logo
Westnet signs an exclusive supply agreement with Skybridge to provide installation and logistics management services for the rollout of Ipstar satellite broadband services under the Australian Broadband Guarantee subsidy.

Other major recent projects include:

  • National integration of approx 700 Customer Order Display and Intercom systems for an international quick service restaurant chain.
  • Rollout and maintenance of VSAT DVB broadcast system to 800 Woolworths / Safeway supermarkets
  • Installation and maintenance of approx 1000 TVRO satellite BGM systems into Coles / BiLo supermarkets
  • Installation of approx 100 satellite based SCADA sites for remote national pipeline monitoring and control systems.
